The Texas Longhorns defense played a major and pivotal role against the Ohio State Buckeyes involving this 20-point comeback versus the Ohio State Buckeyes. I'm still on a high, guys. I'm still on a high. I can't wait to get started. I'm going to go over 3 main points as to where and how they impacted the game. But first things first, this is Longhorns Hit. You're tapped in with Longhorns Hit with your boy Madison Davis, Locked On Podcast Network. We're here. I'm coming at you live and direct. But first, I want to shout out. Our sponsor, Kalshi. Download the Kalshi app and use code HIT to get $25 when you trade $25. K-A-L-S-H-I, Kalshi. Let's get into it. This defense played out of their mind. They played out of their mind. They were granted the short end of the stick time and time and time again. But first things first, let's go into our point number 1. Excuse me, I'm telling you, I'm excited. Point number 1. Bending without breaking under short field pressure. We saw it off rip, off rip, off rip. We saw it off rip when Relique Brown fumbled on that little running back dump off from from Arch Manning to Relique Brown, and it was a quick fumble. Defense showed up. They could have given up a touchdown. They they were they had a short their backs were against the goal. They they could have folded. But they didn't. They didn't. They were granted, honestly, nothing. They were given a short field and they held their end of the bargain. They made sure that they didn't give up a touchdown and they only allowed a field goal. That's a win. That's a win. And they were constantly put in that position from offense. And then, you know, the next drive from our offense, interception. It wasn't Arch Manning, but interception. And they were having to hold up their end of the bargain again. It could have been a lot worse. It should have been a lot worse, but this defense did their thing. Now, coming to the second half, they made adjustments. Point number 2, second half lockdown. They played lockdown defense in that second half. So what they did, what Will Milsham did, he quite literally, at first, first half they were like, okay, we're gonna, I trust my guy against your guy. But now it's not working. I'm going to double Jeremiah Smith. I'm going to make sure somebody else, somebody else is going to have to beat me outside of Jeremiah Smith. That's what's going to have to happen. And big 95 plugged up the middle and they really couldn't get that running game going either. So that played a major part. Because remember that running game, Bo Jackson, he was, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was getting after it. He was getting after it. I can't lie to you and I won't lie to you. But this defense found a way, uh, and they did their thing in the second half. Now lastly, lastly, but before I get to that last point, before I get to that last point, because that last point is going to be crucial and it's going to mean a lot coming from me— I love defense, um— but first I want to give a quick shout out to Koushi once again. Uh, did you know the Texas Longhorns have a 16% probability of going to the national championship and winning You don't believe me? Go ahead, go to Kalshi. I promise you, I am not lying to you. If you place a bet of $100, you would get a $590 max payout for the Longhorns making and winning the national championship. Go over there to Kalshi, K-A-L-S-H-I, Kalshi. I'm telling you, download the Kalshi app and use code HIT to get $25 when you trade $25. Trust me, I would not lie to you. Lastly, let's talk about that crucial stop. against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Collin Simmons was on his way to sack Julian Sayan, and that left tackle— right tackle, right tackle, um, he had to hold on for dear life because if not, it was going to be over. It was going to be over. They ended up getting that holding call, um, and ended up backing it up 10, and time was dwindling down. They did their thing. They held their end of the bargain, guys. Defense wins championships. Well, guys and gals, defense wins championships. Defense wins championships, and this defense is for real. It's for real. Shout out to Will Muschamp. Shout out to the guys. Shout out to the guys holding it down, doing what they do. I'm looking forward to what they have in store for this season. I know it's going to be big. I know it's going to be major. And I know what they displayed on Saturday is going to continue to come. Now, we can't get complacent of what happened on Saturday.
