I'm I heard good, so we're gonna go good first. Of course you want the good news first, right? It's only human nature. Now, the good: a dominant defense. Defense looked great. Defense looked great. Yes, we did have the injury to Colin Simmons, but according to Steve Sarkisian, Colin is gonna be okay. He's gonna be just fine. He's expecting him to go, especially— and same thing with Kobe, right? He's expecting both of those guys to be ready for the game against Tennessee. So hey, we're gonna need them, we're gonna need them, we really are, because Tennessee ain't playing no games, right? But back to the UTSA games. All right, I got off track. Sorry, my bad, man. Um, we did have a dominant defense, uh, suffocating yards allowed, uh, between 138 yards to 142 yards, uh, from a total offense from the UTSA Roadrunners. So that's a good thing. Lockdown defense, corners flashed, Grayson flashed. Uh, Jelani flashed. Did you see that, that hit on that screen? Oh my goodness. Um, so they flashed, linebackers flashed, young guys flashed, right? Young guys flashed. Um, so that, that's a plus. Zero touchdowns given up, uh, only gave up 2 field goals. So that is a plus. Um, and, and third down lockdown, third down lockdown defense was amazing. They were 1 for 11 on third down conversions. That's pretty, that's pretty, that's pretty darn good. That is really darn good, uh, for our defense. So I'm proud of them for that. Now we are about to get into our the bad. Oh wait, hold on, we can get to some offense. Some offense did— they had some positive things. Uh, Cam Cole and Arch Manning connection starting to heat up. Uh, Cam had 2 touchdowns. I'm liking it, I'm liking it, I'm liking it. So I need to see more of that. I wish we got to see a little bit of Ryan Wingo, but that's all right. I'm sure we'll see him more of him in this next game against Tennessee. Let's go ahead and get into the bad, uh, but first things first, Cauchy has us winning the national championship over Notre Dame. We are favored and trading at 13%. That's right, right now, 13%, we're favored to win the national championship. Arch looked out of sync. Yes, yes he did. He looked out of sync. He had already predetermined who he was going to throw it to. Arch also depended on his legs way too much this game. If I'm not mistaken, he was the second leading rusher behind Derek Cooper. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's less than ideal, especially against UTSA. No, that's, that's, that's— I'm sorry, uh, Smothers. I'm sorry, Smothers. Smothers was the leading rusher. He had 54 and Arch Manning had 50. Yeah, that's, that's not ideal. We, we— I, I don't, I don't know, man. I don't know. Um, but after the game, Arch Manning did say he needs to be better. He acknowledged he had to be better. Sark said he needed to be better. So everybody knows they need to be better, um, on the offensive side of the football, especially out Our quarterback, he took way too many hits. And honestly, the offensive line per PFF, they they did really good, right? Their their grades were really good. Pro Football Focus had us doing really our offensive line was doing good, but they just just arch just our passing game. Pass protection was good. Running I mean we could have done a little better in the run game. That's That's obvious, but I think we will. We'll get right. I think, I really do. And I think Arch will do better in this next game as well. I don't know. I don't know. Again, I asked the TikTok fam and Instagram fam, and a lot of them said that we were just playing down to our competition. I don't like that. I don't like that at all. I don't think that's a valid excuse, but hey, I'm willing to take any excuse that will help me feel better because I did not feel good after that game. You're the number 1 team in the nation and I expect you to play as such. Defense did, offense did not. We scored, what, we scored 10 points. Actually, we scored 17 points in the first half and we only scored 10 in the second half. Yeah, you were 30 points favorite going into this game and you won by 24, which is a luxury, right? It's a luxury. You got to do that. But at the end of the day, I needed, I needed 45 at least. I had us winning 45-17. And honestly, defense did their job. So expect more from the offense. I need more from the offense if we're going to beat Tennessee. We have to be better on the offensive side of the football. That's just the facts. That's the fact of the matter.
