The Texas Longhorns are taking on the University of Texas at San Antonio in Austin this weekend. Today we're going to go over the Texas Longhorn focus, uh, what should be their focus, uh, how to stop the high-powered offense in San Antonio, and what are the key matchups and X-factors in this game. Welcome all, this is the Locked In Longhorns Hit Podcast with the Locked On Podcast Network. Uh, this is your host Madison Davis. I'm excited to have you all in here, but first, today's sponsor is by Calci. Uh, Download the Kaoshi app and use code HIT to get $25 to trade $25. So without further ado, let's go ahead and get into this game. You know, we all know the Texas Longhorns are coming off of their emotional win against the Ohio State Buckeyes 24-23. And I feel like that's going to play a pivotal role in winning this game. What can Steve Sarkisian do to keep these guys intact, nice and mature, so they're not looking forward to next week against Tennessee? Uh, in Knoxville. Uh, it's important that they come off fast, have a fast start, and really use this game, uh, to really clean up any mistakes that were made in the Ohio State game. Now, we have to start running the ball a little bit more, um, but I feel like if we can assert ourselves in the run game, we can start getting our wide receivers involved and clean up some of those drops and the accidents that were happening, uh, in The Ohio State game. UTSA, they're actually averaging about 38 points per game. Yeah. So they're, they're, they're not a slouch. They are, they, they actually just beat Texas State this past weekend, 31 to 26. So they are coming in with a mission now. They are also the underdogs. So that means, you know, most underdogs, they have their backs against the wall, but also they also have nothing to lose. And a team that has nothing to lose is a very dangerous team. So I just feel as though the Texas Longhorns cannot take this team lightly in whatever manner. Now, I feel as though the Texas Longhorns, again, should establish the run. I feel as though they should get Cam Coleman involved also, because again, those drops last week, they— I looked at the film last night. I'm not going to lie. I looked at the film last night and I'm like, man, this game could have— they— That Ohio State game could have got away from us quick, fast, and in a hurry. Shout out to the defense again. Now, the Roadrunners offensive line is their bread and butter. Their trenches is their bread and butter. Our front 7, we're gonna have to cause some chaos early, early. We're gonna have to let them know they are, we are not gonna let you hang around here. And they can do that. Our front 7 can do that while also UTSA can establish themselves in the run game as well. So it is imperative for us to stop the run game early. Because we do remember Ohio State, granted UTSA is not Ohio State, but I'm just bringing this back really quick. UTSA, well, Ohio State, I'm sorry. Ohio State, they got off to a strong start in the run game. Bo Jackson, that backfield, they were going kind of crazy. So we need to limit those plays. We need to limit explosive plays for the UTSA Roadrunners. But really, really, really quick, did you understand or did you know that the Texas Longhorns are the favorite to win the national championship this season? Uh, they're favored at 14%. Notre Dame is actually, uh, favored at 13%. So if you were to trade $100, your payout would be $631 if the Texas Longhorns win the national championship. But we're gonna win it. We have to. We must. This is our year. This is— I sound like a cowboy fan. I am a cowboy. But anyway, But if you would download Kalshi today and use code HIT to get $25 when you trade $25, that's K-A-L-S-H-I, Kalshi, trade on anything. Now let's talk about some X factors really quick, at least for us, for our side of the football. I feel, let's talk about the defensive side. Colin Simmons, this is your game. This is you. This is you. You. This is you. This is you. This is you. Go get the quarterback. Make money. Be chaotic. Do what you do best. Get active. Use your speed. Get to the outside or beat them inside. Either way, you have to win. Just go win. Ian Jafar, plug up that plug up. I mean, the middle should they shouldn't even think about running the ball. They shouldn't even think about running the ball. But other than that, I feel like we can handle business on the defensive side of the football. I mean. I hate to be like, you know, we just played Ohio State, but we did just play Ohio State. So that's probably one of the better offenses that we might go against this season. But again, do your job in the run game. Take care of the run game. The rest of the game will take care of itself. I trust our corners. I trust our safeties. Just take care of that front 7. We need to take care of their run game. Offensively, again, establish the run early. Get our wide receivers involved. Get Wingo, get Mosley, get Cam Coleman, get Winston, our tight end involved. Get, I mean, even get Relique Brown involved in the pass game as well. And I believe we will have a pretty dominant win. I'm going to make a score prediction here, guys. I actually suck at score predictions, but, um, let's see, what are we gonna do? What are we gonna do? I say we, we, we probably get about 45. We'll drop about 45. I think 45, 45-17. 45-17, Texas Longhorns take it, and we're gonna go on to Knoxville next week. I'm excited. I know you're excited. Make sure you subscribe wherever Watching this, subscribe.
