But before we get into that, we must talk about senior linebacker Justin Cryer. Yes indeed, the man is a hooper. The man is absolutely getting it done, especially in the run game, and his coverage is getting better day by day, week by week. I am enjoying it. Um, and he's from— he's from Florida State. He's a Florida State transfer, um, and he stepped into a key role for this defense. But I want to talk about his impact really, really, really quick, especially as far as leadership goes. So we remember when Colin Simmons got that sack, right? And he did his celebration. The first person to really come up to Colin Simmons directly after that was Justin Cryer. And Justin Cryer came up to him. He's like, that's not what we do. That's not what we do. That's not what we do. You need that. You need somebody to hold our, even our star players accountable. Him being a player, it's going to mean more, right? It means a lot more because You need your brothers to hold you. Hey, you know, you know, you get in trouble with your mom or your dad or or your guardian, right? And your brother or sister comes up to you. Hey, come come on. You're better than that. You're better than that. You you're right. You're right. You're absolutely right. You know, it means it means a lot coming from him and his his nickname obviously Juice Justin Juice Cryer because he brings the juice, right? He he is what kind of makes that defense go, right? And I I love that. His early production has been really really good. He has twenty total tackles. 13 solo and 1 sack. So he's coming along. He's coming along well. I'm loving what he's bringing to this defense. The command, he's very vocal. I'm loving it. I'm loving it. And I just can't wait to see what this defense really blossoms into because it's just, it's only 4 games, right? It's only 4 games. And I just know that they're gonna get better and better and better under Will Muschamp. 'Cause you gotta understand, they're also learning another defense under a new defensive coordinator, right? And they're getting comfortable. And these guys, it might get, it might, hey, they might have another level that they can hit, huh? They might have another level that they can hit. So I'm excited to see it. I'm really proud of what Justin Cryer is doing. And I just love what he's doing for that linebacker crew. Obviously, Raheem Byles as well. Raheem Byles is bringing juice, juice to this defense. I do kind of wish he would, his coverage has to get a little bit better, but— That's neither here nor there. I'm expecting to see that, um, as the year goes on. Now let's talk about this Heisman. I— hey, look, I think, I think this is me. I could be, I could be tripping. You guys let me know down in the comments if I'm tripping, right? I think Collin Simmons has a true claim for the Heisman Trophy. I do. I really, I, I really, really do. Look, if you think about it, when you think of the Texas Longhorns defense, this season, you think of who? Colin Simmons. He's the face of the defense. When you think of— really, if you think— when you think of edge rushers in college football right now, this season, you think of Colin Simmons. You do. You do. He, he is— he's scary, man. He, he is. He really is. And the thing about it, granted, yes, he's ranked number 2 in sacks this season for now. For now. Xavier Lewis over there in North Carolina, he's doing his thing, right? But Collin Simmons brings— it has a Micah Parsons effect for my Dallas Cowboys fans. Uh, you know what I'm trying to say. When you have— you literally have to take account for Collin Simmons every single play. And sometimes he'll have a delayed rush, he'll back off, act like he's in coverage, and the quarterback's okay, well, I mean, I mean, I guess I don't have to worry about— wait, no, he's blitzing, you know what I'm saying? So, and we saw that with Faison. We saw— that's how Faison actually got sacked. I loved that. I loved that. So The man has 7 sacks, right? That he just broke, if I'm not mistaken, he just broke the Texas single-game record for sacks. 5.5 sacks. Shout out, shout out to, uh, I'm loving it. Shout out to Lance Jackson too. Lance Jackson, he did his thing too. But, um, I, I'm serious, I'm serious. The, the man, he's getting like 1.70, 1.75 sacks per game. That's also second in FBS. Dude, come on, man. Come on. And the thing about it is, it's only 4 games. Wait, just wait. Just, just you wait. Just you wait. I guarantee it, at the end, by the end of the season, we will be saying he needs to be in the Heisman race. He needs to be in the Heisman race. Look, I'm, I'm just saying. I'm just saying. You guys let me know if you agree down in the comments. I'm not tripping. I'm not. Am I? Am I tripping? I don't think I am. I don't think I am.
