Coming up, we're going to talk about the cards. We hold the cards, we hold the cards as it, as, as it pertains to, uh, the Longhorns defense. Now Trenches, trenches, trenches. For those who don't know, the trenches—that's the line of scrimmage. Offensive linemen versus defensive linemen, right? And it gets ugly down there, right? It gets ugly. It's it's it's physical. Only the strong survive. I feel like we have the stronger of the units as it pertains to our opponent, the Oklahoma Sooners. I feel as though we are performing. Hey, look, I'm not even I'm not I'm not even thinking about the Tennessee Volunteers game. That was more so because of communication. Communication, right? That was more so because of communication why we didn't perform as well. And Jim Knowles and that Tennessee defense—they're actually really, really good. This is not the same thing. This isn't the same thing. The Oklahoma Sooners—they're they're good on defense, right? Like I told you guys, they they are top five in yards allowed. Like they are they are they're they're nice, right? They are actually like that. But I feel like we're better. We're better. We clean up the miscommunications and and. Uh, we really hone in on, on our assignments and execute, it won't be close. You give Arch Manning a clean pocket, he's gonna dice you up. I'm not gonna lie to you, he's gonna dice you up. You don't handle business though, if you don't handle business, that is where Arch tends to— his clock speeds up and he looks down and he tries to take off, but it's a bit too late. You know, that whole, that whole ordeal. On the offensive side of the football, I trust our linemen. I do. I do. I just do. And they have proven themselves time and time and time and time again. Miscommunication in Tennessee Volunteers game. I'm sure that was cleaned up in the bye week. Defensively, I trust our guys. I don't even— I don't even— I trust Ian. I trust Hero. I trust January. I trust all those guys because they're nasty. We got one of the best defensive line in the country. In the country, it's this that is that simple. And their interior offensive line, they haven't looked the best, which is that's not the reason why John Mater is is you know struggling. He's struggling for a whole plethora of things, but that's that's for another video. We have the best interior and and it's Kanu and and it's Ian though. They— there are— there— and that's going to open the door for Raheem Byles in the back end to blitz. Once you double somebody, it's over. It's over, right? So I think, I think as far as the trenches go, that's us. That's us. Now I'm gonna let you know where we really hold the cards, right? This is where we really hold the cards. Our defensive ends. Indeed, indeed. I'm telling you, our defensive ends and Lance Jackson, right? and in Colin Simmons. They're nasty, man. One, one of the better duos in the country. One of the better duos in the country. One helps the other and vice versa, right? So what we have to do, we have to make sure John Matera stays at that tier. Stay at the tier that he's playing. You see, you see what I did? He's okay. But we have to make sure John Mateer, he's he's constantly rushing. He's constantly like— he, he has— he— we, we have to make sure that John Matar doesn't get comfortable. He hasn't gotten comfortable at all for this entire season, so we can't be the defense that does that. I feel like Will Muschamp is going to dial in some pressure. He's going to bring some pressure, and we have guys that can get home. We do. We, we just do. Justin Cryer can get home from the, from the linebacker position. We have Raheem Byles, right? And we already talked about our interior. We— I mean, we have guys, and then we can, we can blitz Jelani McDonald if it comes down to it. So our cards are— is our edge. Like, our edge room is nasty. We do that, it's, it's over. It is, it is. It's really over. Uh, and as far as the interior, the interior of their offensive line, it's, it's not good, guys. It's not good. I, I, I don't, I don't know any other way to really say it. I'm trying to put it mildly, but it's, it's not good. It's not good at this point in the season. It's not good. And that's perfect for us because it's time to go hunt. We need to get after it. Colin Simmons had 2 sacks last year. I'm expecting even more, right? Because Lance Jackson has progressed rapidly and mightily. So I'm expecting— I'm expecting a big game from this defense in particular. Offense, I'm gonna do a whole separate video. We're gonna do a whole separate video on the offense. But we need to get this done. We need to get this done. We we have to. It's a must. I I don't want to hear from any sooner. I'm already tired of them. They've been talking trash all week last week, and we were both in a bye week. So, my goodness! But I hope I hope you have enjoyed this episode.
